About
I joined Learnberry because of their mission to educate and advocate. I joined Dubsado because of their drive to build an evolving CRM with their users’ needs at the very center. Most recently, I joined Apixio because of their innovation in the healthcare space using AI.
Native to the Los Angeles area, I enjoy exploring the many pockets of cultural gems it has to offer, particularly coffee shops and boba shops.
On the side, I am the casual social media manager for Emmaus Community Church and redesigned their website for better navigation and information architecture. I also like to drop helpful hints in Yelp reviews and do handlettering for weddings.
Before UX, I wanted to be an optometrist to advocate eye care early to children.
I graduated with a degree in Psychology with Biology emphasis because I enjoyed understanding how the human mind processes experiences and visual stimuli, learning and empathizing with each individual's needs.
How did I get into UX?
At my last optometric internship, the doctor and I worked closely to "create systems". A patient experience begins when they walk through the door but it doesn't end when they leave. How we provided care affects their life outside of the office. I spent time spotting problems, encouraging patient-centricity and sharing possible solutions to the company to cohesively provide better care. From that I discovered my interest in experience design.
Why do I want to go into Healthcare UX?
I'm passionate about helping others through providing care that will improve their way of life. Optometry was one route. The effects of COVID-19 showed me how telemedicine and adaptive technology became vital for people. There was a need for user-friendly websites, health-tracking apps, better EHRs of hospitals and clinics, etc. I want to help improve patient care and alleviate pressures of healthcare workers working on the frontlines.
